A Fresh Start

So I realize it has been a really long time since I updated my blog. This post is going to be super long, we have had ALOT happen to us since Carter lost his first tooth! So I am going to start at the beginning! Lets see...I guess that would be May 28th.

May 28th

This was a day that I knew was going to be really hectic when I woke up I was already dreading this day. It all began at 9 am, Anna Graduated Preschool! She was so cute with her very best friend Sunny. Sunny and Anna were in the same preschool class. They loved that! For the graduation they sang a few songs and it was really cute. The teacher had them each come up one by one and told something nice about each kid. For Anna she said Anna smile for all of us, And she did. Her teacher Mrs. Tracy said that sums up Anna her cute freckled face smile brightens up the room and makes everyone around her happy! I agree!
So from the preschool graduation, we had to rush rush rush to swim lessons. Swim lessons were great for my kids. They are all very scared of the water. Any way...they loved it!

So after swim lessons were over we called my mom to meet us at McDonald's for lunch. McDonald's is always fun for everyone. I can sit there and talk to my mom and just let the kids play. That is what we were doing when Gracie started to scream, by the way Gracie is the toughest kid EVER and she NEVER screams. I ran over to her, she fell off the slide. She would not stop crying and she never cries like that. we noticed she was holding her arm crazy and it was really hurting her. My mom knew it was broken, I said ah no it isn't. Lets get her some ice cream and distract her. She was not distracted. My mom took Carter and Anna home and I took Gracie to urgent care where we found out yes her arm was indeed broken!!!!! From falling not even a foot off the McDonald's slide!

After a few days we got a real cast on..... she wanted purple...it was water proof!

So yeah...that was a really fun day for me!

Let me think what has happened next..

After that the month of June was all a big blur. We were getting ready to move, packing the old house, painting the new house! It was a lot of work but we love it! Moving is always so much fun...

So the night before the big move Carter lost his 2nd tooth in the middle of the night! I am glad he didnt swallow it. So he thought would be so awesome to have the tooth fairy come to our new house our VERY FIRST NIGHT THERE!! It did not exactly happen that way though...this was the day our world turned upside down.

Here goes...

July 3rd the big moving day! Yeah! We rented a big 26 foot Penske truck. We had asked ahead if a few of my brothers could come and help us load and unload the truck. So We were loading the truck...
That looks like it was fun...

So chad, my Dad, my brother Ryan and chads friend were there. Chad was on the truck and started to turn around to see what he should pack next, he missed the ramp and he fell of the back of the truck!!!!!!!!! He just laid there for a little bit, when he got up he was so so pale. He told me he though he broke his arm. I was like oh great, here we go again with the broken arm thing! So he was done packing the truck. Thanks so much for our wonderful help! So as time went on chad was in more and more pain...in BOTH OF HIS ARMS! So the truck was loaded, I took Chad to an urgent care and our wonderful helpers went to unload. Sure enough they said chad broke his wrist(s) !!! Holy cow. So we went home. Chad was in so much pain and went straight to bed. So here I was trying to put together everyones beds so we could all sleep. The next day, the fourth of July, We had people going in and out all day. My mom and sister Linsey came and seriously unpacked my ENTIRE house!!! Serious! My brother Brett came and hooked our dryer up and did yard work, My Dad was helping my lift heavier stuff and put a little order to all the boxes. My brother in law Ryan put up all of the blinds, and so much more. Anyway, I can not believe how much every one just came to the rescue when we needed help the most ever. THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS! So as the day went on Chad was in more and more pain. My mom and dad and sister got really worried about him, they thought he was going into shock. His eyes were glassy, had a blank stare, kind of really out of it. So I took him to the ER. The kids slept at Chad parents....THANK YOU! So it ended up being even worse than we thought. He shattered his left elbow, and broke both wrists!!!!!! He can not do ANYTHING, he can make a fist to eat food, he cant do ANYTHING at all. but sleep because of all the pain pills!
So here is a picture with my two handicapped "kids"

So THEN today..........
Gracie had her appointment to get her cast off...it has been 6 weeks already! So yeah..take that dirty thing off!!! Here is a picture with her last day in her cute purple cast!
So here she is with her cast off!!!!!!

But wait....
IT'S STILL BROKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4 weeks in the cast this time! AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!
So we left with a dirty purple cast and came home with a clean pink cast.....

So sorry for the super long blog...I will better at keeping everyone up to date on the Johnsons. For now I will tell you in my family we have 10 arms...3 of the 10 arms are broken!! That is 1/3 of my families arms are broken!

That's aweful! I heard about Chad, but I didn't hear Gracie had broken hers too. You guys are grounded for a while so no one else breaks anything. We're praying for you guys. Good luck!

So sorry to hear about Chad! We missed seeing you guys when the rest of your family came to Utah. I hope Chad recovers soon. My hubby had knee surgery 3 years ago and he couldn't do anything either! But, at least he could use his hands. That would be pretty tough! Okay, knee surgery or two arms in casts--doesn't even compare!!
